Welcome to the Sarcoma St. Vincent's Network Ireland Research Survey

We are dedicated to enhancing the understanding and care of individuals affected by sarcoma. As part of our ongoing efforts, we invite you to participate in this survey. Your insights are invaluable in guiding us towards providing comprehensive support and improving the patient experience. Before you proceed, take a moment to reflect on your journey with sarcoma. Below are a series of questions aimed at gathering information about your diagnosis, treatment, and support received throughout your experience. Your responses will help us identify areas where we can better serve our community and ensure that no one faces sarcoma alone.

Prior to your diagnosis had you heard of the word “sarcoma”?

Who was the first Healthcare Practitioner (HCP) that you attended?

Did your HCP use the word “sarcoma”?

Did you understand the term after your initial consult?

How many members within the sarcoma network did you attend

Were you made aware that your case would be discussed at a Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDM)?

Did you have an education session with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)?

Was your treatment plan explained?

Did you understand that a combination of treatments may be used e.g surger/chemotherapy/radiotherapy?

Were you made aware if your diagnosis was early versus advanced?

Were you made aware if your treatment intent was curative versus palliative?

How did these toxicities if any impact you on a daily basis?

Can you make any comment on the supports available to you?

What type of fears did you have throughout your treatment?

Were their supports in place to help you to address these fears?

When you completed your treatment was your surveillance/follow up plan communicated to you?

If answered yes to the above, did you understand that surveillance would include out-patient clinic reviews and radiological imaging i.e. CT scan, MRI, echo?
